What Is a Matchmaker’s Success Rate—Really?

One of the most common questions I get is: “What’s your success rate?”

It’s a fair question—and an important one. But the truth is, the answer isn’t as simple as a percentage.

Because matchmaking isn’t a passive service. It’s a collaborative process.

Let me explain it in a way that tends to click for people:

The Personal Trainer Analogy

Hiring a matchmaker is a lot like hiring a personal trainer.

A great trainer can:

  • Design the right program
  • Correct your form
  • Push you when needed
  • Help you avoid mistakes
  • Keep you accountable

But they can’t do the workout for you.

If you show up, follow the plan, stay consistent, and take feedback seriously—you’ll see results.

If you resist the process, skip steps, or only do what feels comfortable… progress slows down.

Matchmaking works the same way.

What Success Actually Depends On

Yes, my role is to:

  • Curate high-quality, aligned matches
  • Give honest feedback (even when it’s not easy to hear)
  • Help you refine how you show up—on dates and in relationships
  • Guide you toward compatibility, not just chemistry

But your role is just as important:

  • Being open to matches that may not fit your “usual type”
  • Implementing feedback after dates
  • Showing up with intention and curiosity
  • Letting go of patterns that haven’t worked

The clients who get the best results are not the “luckiest”— they’re the ones who are coachable, self-aware, and willing to grow.

So… What’s the “Success Rate”?

Instead of a fixed number, I look at success this way:

✔️ Are you learning, refining, and improving with each interaction?

✔️ Are you moving closer to a relationship that actually fits your life?

Because ultimately, success isn’t just about a match. It’s about building a relationship that lasts.
