Over the past few weeks, something special happened in New York.
People packed sports bars and gathered in parks. They crowded around TVs with friends, coworkers, and even complete strangers. For a few hours, nobody cared about job titles, political views, or where someone lived. They were simply sharing an experience together.
The Knicks gave New Yorkers something many of us have been missing: a sense of connection and community.

And it made me think about dating. Today, it’s possible to sit alone on your couch and swipe through hundreds of profiles in a single evening. Technology has made meeting people more convenient than ever before.
Yet many singles tell me they feel more disconnected than ever.
